Copper Oxygen-Free Copper is a Pure grade 99.9%, used in Jewelry manufacturing for alloying Gold and Silver.
Copper pieces are cut in to small bits approximately: 1" x 1/4" x1/8" - 5-6 pcs weight approximately 1 ounce.
Copper bits come in 5 Lb. Sealed Pack.
Pure copper is extremely difficult to melt and cast as well as being prone to surface cracking, porosity problems, and to the formation of internal cavities.
The casting characteristics of copper can be improved by the addition of small amounts of elements including beryllium, silicon, zinc, and silver.
In processing Copper, melting – grinding sawing or sanding types of applications use exhaust ventilation and appropriate approved respiratory protection.
