Crucible is made of high grade fused Silica, withstands temperatures up to 2500F/1371°C .Crucibles should be glazed with Borax prior to use, which also helps to extend the life of the crucible. 2.Handle Holder/Tong with Wood Handle. This handle/tong holds crucibles 0316-250, any round diameter crucible that is 2-7/8"- 3" outer diameter.
Handle:
The crucible holder shaft is steel mounted into a hardwood handle. The shaft is 1/2" wide x 1/8" thick steel, with a 1/4" screw and wing nut to assure a firm hold while transferring liquid metals. Overall length of handle measures 17".
