Akron Rubber is made by Zero-D Products in Akron Ohio, the polymer capital of the world. The Akron mold rubbers deliver controlled shrinkage, excellent cutting qualities, high tear resistance and elongation, and excellent fill and detail reproduction. The production formulations of the mold material contain certain waxes, oils and antioxidants, thus the molds made with the Akron will provide many years of production life. Modern chemistry permits an uncured shelf life of 7 years or more, finished life of over 20 years.
Flex Rubber is a Low Shrink Gold Mold is a Premium rubber that has a 35 Durometer, gold tone, soft, pliable, well suited to delicate work. Low Shrinkage mold less than 2.3% shrink. The Gold Flex rubber is identified by dark blue polyethylene cover. The mold material will never encounter variations in hardness or shrinkage.
NOTE: Pre-heat Vulcanizer to 310oF once it is ready vulcanizing time is 7 ½ minutes per 1/8". The vulcanzing recommended temperature is 310oF, the temperature and time may be varied to suit your needs and experience...however do not exceed 325oF / 163oC
The 5 pound package is enough to make 20-25 standard sized molds, depending on the thickness of the mold.
