Specialty hammer sometimes called Creasing / Bordering hammer is used to crease and form radial crimps and creases on the metal. This is the first step in some raising techniques. In Silver Smithing this bordering hammer it is used on the rims and edges of bowls and platters.
It is ideal in when creasing or crimping metal finishing edges of various forms. It is also used to thicken the rims on bowls and other hollowware.
Hammers head slopes downward to form narrow Rounded and Flat edges on each end.
Hammer is well made with fine smooth edge surfaces and hardwood handle that allow for a true feel of the work being performed.
